Young people say what they think about their first job. What do you think?
What kind of work are you hoping to do?
I'm not sure what I want to do when I'm older, but I want to work with animals really.
Maybe like a vet or something like that.
I hope to do sort of biology or science.
I either want to be a teacher or I think a policeman.
Maybe a PE teacher and coach other young boys' football team maybe hopefully.
At the moment I'm thinking of being a pilot or a fashion designer maybe, I'm kind of struggling between the two ideas.
I really want to be an accountant and I hope I can do that.
What are you looking forward to about going to work?
I'm looking forward to earning my own money, being able to control my own money instead of having to depend on my parents.
Just the fact that you get to earn money and then you get to buy things that you like, like cosmetics and so on.
New experiences, hopefully I'll be able to travel in my new job if I get one.
Because I want to do acting and stuff, it will be something I enjoy, so I'm looking forward to having that sort of fun when I'm working.
I'm looking forward to being my own boss and not having to be, you know, told what to do by someone else.
How much do you think you'll be paid and how often?
Most people are starting to get paid monthly now, I expect it to be monthly and not weekly.
I don't know how much I'd be paid, hopefully like twenty thousand plus.
Possibly twelve pounds an hour 'cause that would be an alright, that's an alright figure, it's not too low like five pounds, twenty, but it's not too high because I don't want to set my sights too high.
I'll hopefully be paid quite a lot because I want to get like nice stuff and not like have to scrape about for money all the time, so.
I'm just hoping I get paid in the first place [laughs].
Do you know what deductions will be made?
Well, I know about the general things before I even get money like the tax and stuff, I mean, that's going to be quite brutal.
Tax, so I have to pay for the NHS and the army and stuff like that.
Deductions perhaps for paying into the pension scheme.
