Here are some thoughts from young people about why they have decided to stay on in education and what they think the financial implications will be. What do you think?
What do you think you might be doing in ten years?
In ten years' time I think I'll be working.
Finished uni and just starting off my career.
I think I might be in college or university with maybe a part-time job so I can earn a little.
In ten years' time, I hope to be working in the media industry.
I want to be doing things like theatre work, like professional, and I definitely want to go to like a drama school in London.
Hopefully I'll be working in a better job than I am now, like something I've been studying like Food Science because that's what I want to do, like, or I could go off and be a chef because I'd like to go off in that kind of direction as well.
I'd hope to be in a paid job in ten years' time and earning a lot of money.
I'm hoping to be singing in ten years' time, but if it doesn't work out, then hopefully something that will - like business, something to be involved with business.
Hopefully I'll have a job and maybe a family.
How are you planning for your future?
At the moment I'm planning for my future by looking at university courses and trying to decide which path I want to take in the future.
I'm looking into college courses for the future so I can aim to get to where I want to be.
Well, I've started saving for university just now, so I'm just keeping back about fifty pounds a month.
I'm saving for university at the moment and possibly some travelling after university.
Well, I'm already taking the subjects that I need at the moment like Home Economics and I'm going to take up Business Management and I've been to college already and done a college course in Hospitality for that as well.
Financially, I'm planning for my future by having the bank account that my parents manage as a store for money that I will need later on.
My mum's already started saving for my university because I want to go university.
I'm not really planning anything at the moment, I'm just sorting myself out.
How important is money to you?
Money's probably quite important because you can't really get anywhere without it, you need it all the time.
I think money probably is quite important especially with me wanting to go to university, I'm going to have to finance that.
I need to make sure I have a good education, so a good place to be like a nice university, so I need to make sure I have the money to go to those kind of places.
It is important because I would need money to buy things to make me look more presentable, more businesslike and to start off my business when I get there.
I'd like to be comfortable financially so that, you know, I can go on holidays and that I can give the best for my family and just enjoy my life.
For me, money is not always a big thing, if I'm happy then I'm happy, money can't change that.
